Dear Residents,
The team have been made aware of drug related ASB being committed in alley ways in the Hadley Way area. Pathways from the parking area in the location are being attended by unknown person/s and cannabis is being smoked. Officers will be patrolling the area and any offences will be dealt with accordingly. We ask that the behaviour stops with immediate effect. Signs had been placed at the location regarding this behaviour which have been ripped down, those who have ripped down the signs will be dealt with as officers have been able to identify them, what has been committed in this case is criminal damage.
Classification: Cannabis is a Class B drug under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.
Cannabis is a Class B substance which is illegal to possess, give to people or sell. Being in possession of cannabis can result in up to 5 years in prison, an unlimited fine or both. Supplying cannabis, which includes giving or selling cannabis to your friends, can result in a 14 year prison sentence and an unlimited fine or both. Cannabis falls under the discretionary warning scheme which means that if you are caught with a small amount of cannabis in your possession, for personal use and this is your first offence, a police officer may choose to give you a street warning. This is not a criminal record, but it will be recorded on the Police National Computer.
